James “Jimmy” Perkins

          James Lawrence “Jimmy” Perkins, 76, Glasgow, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at his residence.  A native of Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edgar and Ada Forrest Perkins.  He was a retired material handler at Tyson Bearing (SKF) in Glasgow and a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church.  He greatly enjoyed his hobbies of old cars, playing golf, and hunting.

          Survivors include his wife Wanda Perkins; one daughter, Frances Gilpin (Don); one grandson, Zeak McIntyre (Harley); one sister, Sue Walker (Robert); two nephews: Stephen and Mark Bell.

          Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

    Aunt Wanda I’m so sorry for your loss. Uncle Jimmy was a nice man. I remember when I got to go church with you both and we went to dinner together afterward. I will miss him. Know that you are in my prayers today and always. I love you.
