Doug Jones

          Roy Douglas “Doug” Jones, 82, Glasgow, passed away on Sunday October 9 at the T J Samson Community Hospital.  The Barren County native was the son of the late Willie and Bertha Mae Wheeler Jones.

          Doug was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and retired from South Central RTC as Chief Design Engineer after 37 years of employment.  In his early years, he was in the US National Guard, but his love was playing music.  His band, Doug Jones and the Country Gentlemen, entertained far and wide for over forty years.

          He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Harlow Jones; two daughters: Kelly Jones Bruton (Brad) and Stacy Jones Higdon (Abner); three grandchildren: Paedyn Hodges Milby (Kyle), Dru Hodges, and Olivia Bruton; five great-grandchildren: Kaleigh, Leigha, Cannen, and Ryot Jones, and Skye Milby

          Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continue Thursday morning at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, alternate expressions of sympathy may be sent to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1896 Green Valley Road, Glasgow, KY 42141.
