Ernest Lee Poynter, 73, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Talbert and Maxine Poynter. He was a retired electrician and had also worked in the maintenance department at Eaton Axle. He was a 33rd degree mason with membership in the Cave City-Bearwallow Lodge # 231; a member of Kosair Shrine; and a member of Shiloh General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Becky; four children: Eric Poynter (Colleen), Todd Poynter, Chris Poynter (Christie), and Amanda Buchanan (Mark); one brother, Gill Poynter (Brenda); three sisters: Linda Rigdon, Shenna Martin (Doug), and Teresa Chism (W T); one sister-in-law, Sherry Poynter; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Poynter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be after 11 am Friday at the funeral home. The public is invited to Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Charities or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
