Barbara Joyce Lane

June 29, 1934     ~     August 10, 2021

Barbara Joyce Lane, 87, Glasgow, died Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. A former resident of Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Thelma Rich Waller. She was retired from retail management in department stores; a member of Clay’s Mill Road Baptist Church in Lexington; an avid bird watcher, especially hummingbirds, who loved her flowers and gardening; and a great cook, probably because of her love of the activity.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years William C. Lane, (they were married February 1, 1963); five children: Janice Kane and husband John, Gene Carver and wife Brenda, Sherry Jwina and husband Robert, Connie Marsh and husband Kevin, and Debbie Myers and husband Mark; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Riddle and her husband Kenneth.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm Thursday and continue Friday morning at the funeral home.
