          Eugene William “Bill” Alt, 77, Glasgow, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.  A native of Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Ludwiz and Anna Bauer Alt.  A retired 1st Sergeant with the United States Army, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, during which he served three tours of duty.  He was a member of the DAV, VFW Post 5906, MOC of Franklin, KY, and the St. Helen Catholic Church. 

          Survivors include his wife, Janice; four step-children, Ronnie Williams and wife, Letha, and Buddy Harper and wife, Brandy, all of Glasgow, Todd Harper and Jan Hunt and her husband, Clay, all of Edmonton; two sisters, Anna Mae Dickerson of Florida and Agnes Nicholason of Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Williams Alt. 

          Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the St. Helen Catholic Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.  Rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday and a service of honor by the VFW Post 5906 will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, both at the funeral home.  Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the VFW Post 5906 for their nursing home program.
