I truly felt as if I'd lost a brother when I heard the news of Bill's passing. Bill and I would sometimes share opposing views in our post meetings, but I have always held a deep respect and admiration for him. He is now at peace with Our Lord and all of the angels and saints. May Lord God comfort Jan and the rest of the family through this time.

My favorite uncle....I know it's not supposed to be but it is. I remember when he was in Germany all the letters we wrote back and forth. I am so glad and will never forget this past reunion. So many people were there that none of us had seen in so long. I am so grateful we did that for him and especially the whooping he took from us at cards the two nights before that. That time was so special. He will live forever in memories. God rest his soul.

I was very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He spoke to me very kindly and comforted me during the illness and passing of my husband Teddy, a comrade and fellow member of VFW Post 5906. I will always be grateful for his kind words at a difficult time. My sympathies are with his family.

We have lost a real patriot. I feel blessed that I was lucky enough to have got to know him even it was just for a year. Bill cared for his community, fellow veterans, his family and of course his country. His knowledge of the VFW can not be replaced and he will be sorely missed at our post. I know I'll miss him. It just won't be the same without a good "debate" with Bill at our monthly meetings. My codolences to all his family and friends.

I will miss seeing Mr. Alt with his pampered pooches at Veterinary Medical Center. You can tell a lot about a person by the way he treats his pets, and I could see nothing but goodness there. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
