William Ambrose “Bill” Huffman, 83, Cave City, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.  He was a son of the late Renn Hildreth Huffman and Susan Maye Starr Huffman.  He was a retired salesman with Commonwealth Life Insurance Co. and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.  He was a charter member of the Mammoth Cave Amateur Radio Club, where he was known by the call K4MIQ.  He was also a member of Allen Lodge # 24 F. & A.M. and the Kosair Shrine.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Brinegar of Cave City; two granddaughters, Alicia Estes and husband, Frankie, of Horse Cave, and Jo Gossett and husband, Sam, of Cave City; one brother, Ralph Huffman of Bowling Green; six great-grandchildren, Kevin Estes (Jessica), Jonathan Estes (Dana), Jessica Estes, Nissa, Dylan and Derek Gossett; four great-great-grandchildren, Garrett Estes, Bailey Estes, Gracie Estes and Presley Estes; two nephews, Lewis Ray Wells of Glasgow and David Huffman (Lynn) of Louisville; one niece, Laura Fevold (Mike) of Bowling Green; one great-niece, Savannah Huffman; two great-nephews, Hunter Huffman and Drew Fevold.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Cooper Huffman and one sister, Violet Huffman Wells.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.  Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be at the Cave City Cemetery.  Masonic services, to which the public is invited, will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or Kosair Charities.
