John Ellis Edmunds, 82, Beckton, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  Born in Barren County September 8, 1923, he was a son of the late Lenord M. and Maud Emerson Edmunds.

He was a member and Elder of the Beckton Church of Christ, a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Davis Edmunds; one son, Danny Joe Edmunds; one brother, Thomas Edmunds all of Glasgow; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cecil Buckingham of Alvaton, Erbie Garrett of Hodgenville, Virginia Edmunds, Margaret Edmunds, Melba and Kenneth Humphrey all of Glasgow, Wendell and Carol Davis of Indianapolis, Sue Gray of Campbellsville, Betty and Billy Wright of Beckton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lesia Kaye Edmunds; four brothers, Walter (Bub), Charles, Judson and Henry Donald Edmunds; four sisters, Byrd Atkinson, Flora Mae Edmunds, Ada Mildred Buckingham and Betsy Jean Garrett.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
