Charles R. Buford, Sr.

Charles Richard Buford, Sr., age 75 of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, January 18, 2024.  He was born on August 27, 1948 in Scottsville, KY to the late Virgil and Ruth Grooms Buford. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Newgene Buford, David Buford, Nelson Buford and two sisters, Carol Buford and Lorene Buford Wilburn precede him in death. He accepted Christ and was a member of Ole Rocky Hill Baptist Church in Glasgow, KY.  

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fostina R. Buford; two sons Charles R. Buford Jr. (Renz) of Tucker, GA and Bryan Buford (Jo Anna) of Glasgow, KY.

Special Nephew & Niece who he thought of as his children: Stephen Buford (Kisa) of Glasgow, KY and Carla Buford of Lexington, KY

Sisters: Linda Mae Buford of Glasgow, KY, Connie Buford of Louisville, KY

Brothers: William E. Buford (Leda) of Louisville, KY, Willie D. Buford (Betty) Bowling Green, KY, Clifton Buford, Louisville, KY

Sisters-In Laws: Brenda Lewis (Rev. Bradley Lewis), Glasgow, KY, Mary Lockett (Kenny) Cincinnati, OH and Markus Knighton (Frank) Atlanta, GA

Five Grandchildren: Devante Buford, Tyler Buford, Steven Buford, Charles Buford III, and bonus grandchild, Jaylen Stonerock

Four Great-Grandchildren: Nala Buford, Indi Buford, Mazi Kingston Buford, and Rilynn Stonerock. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 23, 2024, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ole Rocky Hill Baptist Church with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Ole Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
