Sarah Norman

          Sarah Joyce Norman, 89, Glasgow, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at Barren County Health & Rehab Center.  A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Gladys Thomerson Smith.

          Sarah was formerly a credit manager at Kentucky Finance before becoming employed at Heilig-Myers Furniture and later the Barren Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.  She was one who devoted her time to her family; loved decorating her home; tending her flowers and other yardwork; and baking for other people.  She was a member of the Glenview Christian Church.

          Survivors include two daughters: Kathy Norman Blanton and her husband Jeff, and Jenny Lu Shireman and her husband Chad all of Glasgow; three grandchildren: Benji Shireman, Chloe Shireman, and Jessica Page and her husband Kyle; two great-grandchildren: Carlee and Emoree Page; several nieces and nephews including Judy Denton, David Pirtle, Gary Thomas, Kelly Smith, Rebecca Webster, and Steve Smith.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tim Wendell Norman; three sisters: Daphna Ford, Genave Steenbergen, and Dorothy Thomas; one brother, Charles Bryant Smith; a niece Joy Steenbergen; and a nephew Troy Smith.

          Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
