Wanda Proffitt

          Wanda Taylor Proffitt, 92, Glasgow, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.  A native of Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Unie Carl Taylor and Clara Lee Deweese Taylor.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Horse Cave Church of Christ.

          Survivors include three children: Paulette Ross and her husband Fowler of Tompkinsville, Kathy Lowe and her husband Jimmy, and Daryl Proffitt all of Glasgow; six grandchildren: Sonya Green (Bryant), Jenny Buie (Shane), Brad Lowe (Jamie), Sarah Owens (Josh), McKenzie Cox (Jordan), and Wesley Proffitt; eleven great-grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Wesley Proffitt; one grandchild, Kayln Proffitt; two brothers: Leroy Taylor and Perry Taylor; and one sister, Dorothy Jean Davis.

          A graveside service for family and close friends will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Cave City Cemetery.  A Celebration of Wanda’s Life will be held from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the South Green Street Church of Christ.  The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Shanti Niketan Hospice Home or South Green Street Church of Christ.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
