Butch Wilson

          Charles Glenn “Butch” Wilson, 75, Bon Ayr, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023 at his residence following an illness.  A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late James Albert Wilson and Marie Traylor Wilson.

          Butch was a mechanic who was a lover of horses and classic cars and tractors.  He loved being with his grandchildren and teaching them carpentry skills while admonishing them to “do it the right way or don’t do it”.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam, serving with the 20th Engineer Brigade.

          Survivors include his wife Lisa; five children: James Allen Wilson (Betsy) of Austin, TX, Jeremiah Wilson of Bon Ayr, Michelle Dyer (Gary) of Glasgow, Kendra Tinsley of Lexington, and Jenna Vincent (Jacob) of Bon Ayr; one brother, Joe Wilson (Linda) of  Park City; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several special friends, nieces, and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Robert Tinsley and Joshua Adam “Josh” Wilson.

          Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Bon Ayr Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
