Darrel Thomas Cook

          Darrel Thomas “Tommy” Cook, 81, Hiseville, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his residence.   A native of Ohio, he was the son of the late Herman Clermont Cook and Helen Elaine Milstead Cook Nichols.  He was a retired television repairman; an avid hunter and NASCAR fan; one who loved CB Radios; a member of the NRA; and a United States Army veteran.

          Survivors include his wife of 61 years Barbara Ruth Slayton Cook; five children: Larry Thomas Cook, Beverly Cook Johnson (Steve), and Scotty Cook (Rachel) all of Hiseville, Linda Cook Garmon (Freddie) of Glasgow, and Mary Cook York (Timmy) of Greensburg; a special nephew whom he considered a son, Joe Slayton (Dolly); ten grandchildren: Lucas Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Amanda Garmon Cornell, Gina Garmon Wilson (Justin), Miranda (Danielle) Garmon Wilson (Zack), Joshua Scott Cook (Marieka), Matthew Tyler Cook (Caleb), Andrew Ryan Cook (Sarah), Tina Renee Gaskins (Tim), and Brandon Keith York; one brother, Roger Cook; three sisters: Bonnie Weaver, Judy Conley, and Donna Davis; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Steven Shane Johnson; one great-grandchild, Emily Mackenzie Wilson; one brother, Danny Nichols; two sisters: Carolyn Carsey and Christie Miller; and one brother-in-law, James Weaver.

          Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
