William “Billy” Wayne Crabtree

          William “Billy” Wayne Crabtree, 82, of Glasgow, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.  He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on December 18, 1940 to the late Samuel and Mary Margaret Pursley Crabtree.   

          Billy retired from Hiseville Elementary School as a custodian, was the owner and operator of B&C Heating and Cooling and a farmer.  He was a Christian and member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe County.  Billy enjoyed following Kentucky basketball, fishing and playing cards, pitch was his game.  His most satisfying times in life where spent with his family.

          Survivors include his wife of 64 years Lena Elizabeth Birge Crabtree; one daughter: Maretta Lindsey (Ronnie); one grandson Josh Pierce (Chelsea); one granddaughter: Sarah Pierce; three great grandchildren: Laken Pierce, Ezra Pierce, Lena Pierce; two brothers: Jerry Crabtree (Betty) of Hendsonville, TN, Dennis Crabtree (Shelby) of Lafayette, TN; several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law Roger and Margie Crabtree; one niece: Teresa Crabtree and one nephew: Adam Crabtree.

          Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Union #2 Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
