Brenda W. Ray

Brenda W. Ray passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Bowling Green Medical Center.  Born in Henderson, NC, she was the daughter of the late Percy Winstead and Eunis Jackson Winstead.  Brenda graduated from Aycock High School in Henderson, North Carolina and later attended Bowling Green vocational technical school and earned an associate degree in electronics and worked many years on TV’s and all other electronic equipment.  She was of the Baptist faith.

 She was the mother of three daughters: Brenda S. Poynter (Gil), Mary E. Johnson and Dennise Holsinger (David); seven grandchildren: Lester Matthew Poynter, Justin Poynter (Tiffany), Dustin Hood, Kelly Smith (Shawn), Tyler Lambirth, Heather Johnson, and Whitney Broady; five great-grandchildren: Matthew Hurt, Phoenix Poynter, Dallas Poynter, Weston Johnson, and Eli Walden; two brothers: Adrian L. Winstead and Joseph B. Winstead of Henderson, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Ellen W. Painter and Emma Lou Woodard; two brothers: Lawrence W. Winstead and George E. Winstead.

Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
