Judith “Judy” F. Shaw

Judith (Judy) F. Smith Shaw, age 75, died on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, TN.  Judy was the daughter of the late Pearl Williamson Smith of Glasgow and the late Leon Smith of Louisville. 

A resident of Glasgow, Judy is survived by her son Steven H. Shaw, his wife Connie M. Shaw, and their children Callista Shaw and Telem Shaw, of Dickson, TN.  Also surviving are her twin sisters, Janet Smith and Joyce Smith Gentry, both of Glasgow.   She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Thomas Shaw in 1997. 

Judy was born May 4, 1947 in Louisville and was raised on the family farm near Nobob in Barren County by her mother’s brother and sister, Oscar and Liz Williamson.  She was a graduate of Temple Hill High School and attended the Glasgow School of Nursing, receiving her LPN license, and later she received her RN license while also working full-time at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow.  Her nursing career was spent entirely at T.J. Samson and spanned 30 years or more. 

Judy was a member of Wisdom Faith Church and a member of the Red Hat Society of Glasgow.

Visitation will be at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9.  Funeral services will be held at Hatcher & Saddler on Tuesday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Earlene Branstetter officiating.  Interment will be at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
