Fanny Rosetta Basil, 71, Glasgow, died Sunday, February 27, 2022 at her residence. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee Kerney and Delcie Marie Wilcox Kerney. She was a sales associate at Scott’s Market, an avid bingo player, and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Gene; eleven children: Sherry Ballard, Tina Shugart (Jimmy), Tracy Matthews (Luke), Devona Smith (David), Eric Bullington (Linda), Jason Simmons (Rekita), Crystal Simmons, Shyanna Bullington, Sherry Combs (Bobby), Rita Shaw, and Jeff Basil; twenty grandchildren: Bobby Wayne Bullington, Shonda Ballard, David Wheat, Alex Matthews, Logan Matthews, Dawson Smith, Leeanna Ballard, Candace Simmons, Myles Howell, McKay Howell, Traigen Simmons, Tyson Simmons, Tinslee Rose Simmons, Ashton Milby, Alexis Milby, Tiffany Shaw, Chris Combs, Kara Basil, Casey Basil, and Katie Reece; one brother Gary Kerney (Bonnie); one sister Patty Lane (J C); a special friend Anita Jessie Edmonds; her fur baby Potter; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson Teddy Ray Shaw; three brothers: Terry Kerney, Jerry Kerney, and Darrell Kerney; and two sisters: Violet Gillentine and Gloria Pitcock.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
