Robert Berry Stone, age 94, Versailles, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Born November 30, 1926 at Sturgis, KY, he previously lived and grew up in Louisville. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph C. Stone and Lucy Berry Stone of Louisville; a brother, Dr. Joseph C. Stone, Jr. of Hopkinsville, KY; and his spouse of 49 years, Dorothy C. Stone.

He was a veteran of WWII in the US Marine Corps. As an adult he moved to Glasgow, KY where he became very involved in the community. He was a partner in the Bishop & Stone Insurance Agency for 22 years; a Past President of the Glasgow Lions Club; and a member and elder of the First Christian Church of Glasgow for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Elsie G. Stone (Trudi); his children: Robert B. Stone, Jr. of Henderson, KY, Kelly C. Stone and Carrie E. Bale of Lexington, KY; his step-children: Brenda Hatfield of Louisville and Robert Glass of Lexington; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

    Dear ones,
    It has been many years since I have see any of you. I am Uncle Harvey’s daughter. I re-connected with John Stone a few years ago and he let me know about Bob or Bobby as I remember him. I am a cousin.
    John and I are sad to hear of Bob’s passing and send our love and prayers to all of you. We will be unable to be at the service but hope to re-connect via email or zoom or something in the near future.
