Dennis R. Herron, 61, Glasgow, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at his son’s residence in Hardyville.

After graduation, Mr. Herron entered the army as a helicopter mechanic in the 82nd Airborne division, where he later became a SSGT in the 1st Special Forces Group, Detachment delta. He was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. He was a devoted Christian who loved his family and shooting firearms.

Survivors include four children: Debbie Termer and husband Anthony, Dennis Herron and wife Morgan, and Darin Herron all of Glasgow, David Herron and wife Felicia of Hardyville; seven grandchildren: MacKinley, Swayzlen, Gracelynn, Raegan, Peyton, Kinsley, and Baylee; three sisters: Debbie Costa (Don), Joann Jones (Jerry), and Tammy Crawford (Tom) all of Ohio; one uncle, David St Clair; two special friends: Tim Blanton and Tom Doyle; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Payton Herron; his mother Lola Mae St Clair Herron Hunt; his step-father Robert Leroy Hunt; one brother Rufus Herron; and one sister Judy Bowles.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and continue Thursday morning at the funeral home. For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/hatchersaddler.

In keeping with the Governor’s recommendations for safety during funeral and memorial services, the number of attendees in the funeral home at any given time will be limited; no food permitted in the lounge; social distancing will be necessary; and face coverings are recommended.
