Hayden Saltsman

Hayden Saltsman, 88, Glasgow, died Friday, December 27, 2019 at Highland Ridge Assisted Living.  Born in Grayson County March 13, 1931, he was a son of the late William and Flora Harp Saltsman.  He was one of 14 children.

Hayden was married to Wanda Billingsley Saltsman who preceded him in death.  He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict; a farmer; cabinetmaker; or anything else he wanted to do.  He retired from SKF after 25 years.

He is survived by two sons: Terry (Sheila) Saltsman and Barry (Debra) Saltsman; five grandchildren: Nikki Jolly (Richie), Derek Saltsman (Katara), Tonya Vincent, Drew Saltsman, and Jordan Saltsman (Amanda); eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Stella Gooden and Dorine Reece of Glasgow, and Mona Pierce of Indiana; one brother, William Saltsman of Indiana; his caregivers: Darlene, Kathy, Michelle, Delores, Myra, and Macayla; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death three sisters: Callie Jefferies, Silvia Saltsman, and Linnie Fields; six brothers: Coy Saltsman, Roy Saltsman, Sherman Saltsman, George Saltsman, Herman Saltsman, and Roscoe Saltsman; and his friend Peggy Reece.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Big Meadow Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 3 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
