Edward Glen Parsley, 97, Park City, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, at his residence. A native of Edmonson County, he was a son of the late Dellard and Rena Kersey Parsley. A lifelong farmer, he was a member of the Edmonson County Cattlemen’s Association, a recipient of the Citizen of the Year award from the Soil Conservation District, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member and Deacon of the Hiseville Christian Church.

Survivors include three grandchildren: Chad Parsley, Keshia Parsley, and Nancy Parsley; one brother, Albert Parsley; a special neighbor who was looked upon as a daughter: Peggy Cox Carpenter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Oraola “Bobbye” Parsley; their children: Stephen Everett Parsley and Glenda Suzanne Parsley; two brothers: Nillard Parsley and Alton Parsley; two sisters: Maude Hunter and Nelda Talley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hiseville Christian Church with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Hiseville Christian Church.
