I have many fond memories of working with and aggravating James from when I was a kid.
I wish I had visited more as an adult.
I made a donation to the DAV in his honor.
Mom said the last time she saw him he was very talkative about his Army experiences.
I wish I and my kids could have gotten to hear his stories.
I remember his M1 rifle hanging on the wall, Liz shot one this summer, she would have enjoyed James telling her about his rifle.
I told the kids about the thistle I put in his tractor seat…and the many water fights he started with us while setting tobacco.
Mom had a gag ice cube with a plastic fly in it…I remember she put it in James’ Coke a few times when we were building our house…
    Many great memories….
    Love, Ernie
