He was formerly an ice cream maker at Brown Ice Cream in Glasgow and a retired foreman after 35 years at National Wood Products in Glasgow. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army in WWII; an avid UK fan and golfer, and loved to watch TV; but his greatest pleasure came from being surrounded by his family and taking pride in his yard work. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Tim’s caregivers: Ariel Wells, Pam Davis, and Marsha Dillingham.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by six brothers: Frank Norman, Sam “Buck” Norman, Cordell “Pat” Norman, Hobart Norman, Carvel “Red” Norman, and Jodie Norman; and by three sisters: Verda Yokley, Ora Ella “Punch” Proctor, and Mary Frances Pirtle.

Sarah I want to thank you and your girl for putting your arms around my granddaughter and loving her the way you do. She fell in love with you guys the first time she put her eyes on you. She would call me almost everyday and tell me how Sarah and Tim was with her she loved you guys so much. And as time went on she would call and say Tim is so sick Nanny I’m saying it’s going to be ok. She called me and told me the bad news. She was crying so hard. To the Norman family, I am so sad to hear of Tim’s passing. I have many fond memories of seeing him and Sarah around Glasgow when I was a young girl growing up on the corner or Main and Broadway. They were always holding hands when I saw them at the Plaza Theater and Grinstead’s Grocery. etc. They looked so happy together.

When I was just little girl I would go down to Brown’s Ice Cream Factory where Tim worked and he and Mrs. Kinslow would give me free samples of ice cream. Tim was always such a kind person. I loved seeing him and Sarah together through the years. I will miss Tim’s smiling face.

May God wrap his loving arms around Sarah, Kathy, Jenny Lu and all family and give them comfort now and the days ahead. I regret that I am unable to come to the service, but please know you are all in my prayers. God bless.
