Rachel Smith

Rachel Smith, 76, of Bowling Green formerly of Glasgow, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was a daughter of the late James A. and Ruby T. Ford Woodward.

She is survived by her nine children: Barbara England “Doug”, Steve Smith, Pam Barton, Mark Smith, Larry Smith “Clarissa”, Tony Smith, Susan Halsel, Joe Smith “Samantha” and Jason Smith; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers: Leslie “Bud” Woodard “Vickie”, John Woodward and Hardy Woodward; four sisters: Harriet White, Joann Campbell, Sadie Capps and Mary Woodward. Also surviving is a host of nieces and nephews and her loving friends at Fern Terrace Assisted Living.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: James A. Woodward, Jr. and Andrew Ford Woodward; one sister: Virginia Pearl Woodward.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral until time for services.

    Aunt Rachel touched many lives, I will cherish the great memories I have of her, she could always make me laugh till I cried! She fed a lot of people a lot good country cooking, her sweet tea, corn bread & buicuit & gravy I wish I had some now. I will truly miss you! Deepest sympathy to all of her family!
