Richard W. Thomas, 77, Glasgow, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Clyde and Mable Martin Thomas. He was a former employee of Sorensen’s in Glasgow with 35 years service, a retired custodian of South Green Elementary School, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former member and deacon of Coral Hill Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church, and presently had been attending Greater Vision Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Margaret “Margie” Thomas; one daughter: Cami Church of Glasgow; three grandchildren: Seth Church, Clay Church, and Chessa Church, all of Glasgow; one brother: Ray Thomas, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Jeffersonville, IN; two sisters; Grace Pedigo of Glasgow and Brenda Martin and her husband Tony of Horse Cave; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Virginia Rogers, Loretta Pedigo, Barbara Jean Norman, and Estelle Thomas.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideon’s International.
