James Henry Thomas, 69, Glasgow, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was a son of the late Georgie Ruel Thomas and Marie Borders Thomas. He was a retired employee of Houchens Markets after 35 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed working with horses. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was the loving husband of Rebecca Sharp Thomas and loving father of James Kelly Thomas; he is also survived by two brothers: Terry Thomas and wife Linda, and Dickie Thomas all of Glasgow; two sisters: Sarah Ann Pace and husband Paul of Glasgow, and Betty Carol Goode and husband Doug of Sevierville, TN; a sister-in-law: Beverly Sharp Bulle and husband Steve of Glasgow; a brother-in-law: David Sharp and wife Terri of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Thomas, and by four sisters, Edna Mae Stone, Barbara June Pace, Georgia Lou McGonigle, and Geneva Louis Thomas.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to take this opportunity to thank everyone who said a prayer, visited, or called to check on James. We express special thanks to the staff at T. J. Samson Hospice who provided such tender care for James and especially Dr. Alison Campbell and Dr. Craig Tyree.
