Martha Bell Jones Rutledge passed away at home June 20, 2011 from an extended illness. She was born March 28, 1931 in Frankfort, Kentucky but was a life-long resident of Glasgow. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Donald Rutledge. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Nina Jones and the sister of William Beaty Jones and Mary Jane Jones. She and her husband were publisher and editor of the Glasgow Republican following the death of her father. She was a founding partner along with her husband of The Print Shop in Glasgow. She was a life-long member of the First Christian Church in Glasgow and sang in the choir, which she loved for many years. She was a close friend to many and was known for her quick wit, kind humor and gentle touch. She is survived by her children Nina Moran(Chuck), Philip Rutledge(Sara), Jane Rutledge (Phyllis), and Paul Rutledge(Suzie). She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah Moran, Kate Spurling, Elizabeth Moran, Will Rutledge, Matthew Rutledge, Chris Rutledge, Emilie Rutledge and Adam Rutledge and one great granddaughter Georgia Moretti and many dear friends. Visitation will be from 5 -8 p.m. at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 and from 9 – 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Glasgow on June 22, 2011. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Glasgow. Burial will be at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to your favorite charity.
