Danny Gene Stratton, 66, Glasgow, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Pikeville, he was a son of the late Herbert and Carrie Elswick Stratton. He was a graduate of Betsy Layne High School and the University Of Kentucky School Of Forestry. He was formerly the manager and Vice President of the National Lumber Company in Glasgow with 42 years of service. He was a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association, the Kentucky Forest Industries Association, and the Glasgow Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dinah; two sons, Kevin Stratton and wife, Renee’, of Glasgow, and Greg Stratton of Lexington; three grandchildren, Nicole Pedigo and husband, O’Brian, of Russellville, Ashley Stratton and Daniel Grant Stratton of Glasgow; one brother, Jerry Stratton of Wishrim, WA; one sister, Joyce Spears of Prestonsburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Stratton.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 Sunday at the funeral home.
