To the Family of a truly wonderful gentleman, Mr. George Houchens. “George” and my father, Leon Gray were friends for many years back in the day, and they worked together at the Scottie Cab Company. When my father died many years ago, I remember George saying “I sure will miss my buddy Leon”. A few years ago, I owned Sandy’s Place Consignment on Columbia Ave. George used to stop by and browse and we would talk. He usually always had a story to share with me about the cab company or he and my Dad. I wish your entire family peace in your hearts in this time of your loss of a fine man. I know I found a lot of comfort in stories I learned from those who knew my Dad, and I didn’t realize the friends he had or lives he touched unbeknown to to. Praying that God Blesses each of you with wonderful memories to bring smiles to your hearts during this time of love and reflection of your father’s memory. Sincerely, Cheryl Gray Spencer

My grandfather was a wonderful man and for the short few years I really knew him I learned that time, distance and circumstance didn’t change the fact that we were family. He accepted me with open arms and an open heart and I will miss him greatly. And I know that everyone else that knew him will miss him greatly also, to everyone else I send my blessings and my condolences in this time.
