Marion Junior Harwood, 79, Fountain Run, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A son of the late Marion and Nannie Kate Simmons Harwood, he was a retired farmer and carpenter, overseer of Tracy Creek School Community Center and a member of Ft. Run Old Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Marion Dean Harwood, Steve Harwood and Ricky Harwood (Lori); one daughter, Pam Brewington; three brothers, Bobby Harwood (Ruthie), John Harwood (Mary) and Darrell Harwood (Bonnie); two sisters, Mabel Gravens (Charles) and Jonell Sutton; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Harwood; one son, Jerry Harwood and one granddaughter, Angela Harwood.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Fountain Run Cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

    to the kids and grandkids…especially Shannon & Amy & family: We are so very sorry for your loss of yet another grandpa. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. Never told you this, but Betty (Junior’s wife) was a cousin to my Martin aunts/uncles. Anyway…we love you all. If we can do anything for you…please let us know.

    Ricky and family. I just heard of Jr.’s passing on Sunday. I am so very sorry for your loss. We kind of lost touch since Aunt Betty died. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Bless all of you!

    How sad it is to be reading the Glasgow paper on line, which I seldom do, then read where my uncle has passed. Sad but true. Marion Dean, Pam, Steve & Ricky I was so sorry to read that. I think of you all often. I am still in Ohio and guess I will stay here. I often think of the times when we were all young and playing at Grannies. I will make it down there sometime I hope. You all have my sympathy.
