George Fred Stilts, 66, Glasgow, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at his residence.  He was born in Cumberland County in 1942 to the late James Smith Stilts and Mary Rose Stilts.  He was a former employee of Scotty’s Contracting Stone.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Stilts; one son, Andre Stilts of Tompkinsville; one step-son, Derek Byrd of Bristol, CT; one step-daughter, Kacie Byrd of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Kelly Hewett and Logan Stilts of Scottsville, Dustin and Cody Stilts of Tompkinsville; one step-grandchild, Trenton Shipp of Glasgow; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Hewett and Conner Stilts of Scottsville; three sisters, Charlotte Gilbert of Burkesville, Karon Coomer and Myra Norris of Marrowbone; two brothers, Danny Stilts of Glasgow and Anthony Stilts of Bowling Green.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Stilts and one brother, James Robert Stilts.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Glenview Christian Church Building Fund, 1403 Glenview Drive, Glasgow, KY 42141.
