Velma Catherine Franklin, 85 of Glasgow, died January 9, 2009 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Oliver Prim and Wilma Inez Carson Prim.
She is survived by her son: Douglas Homer Franklin and his wife Janice of Columbia, MO; one daughter: Karen L. Hellard and her companion Charlie Blakley of Glasgow; eleven grandchildren: Kenny Franklin and his wife Karen, Kim Franklin and her husband Lars, Kelly Jackson, Becky Russell, Wendy Pedigo and her husband Bobby, Allison Millam and her husband Shane and Jimmy Franklin; one sister: Flora Mae McGlone; two sister-in-laws: Rita Prim and Lyda Dillon. Twelve great-grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Homer Franklin; three brothers: Rollie Prim, Eddie Prim and Herman Prim.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
