Russell Hellard, 89, Lucas, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in Glasgow.  A native of Jackson County, KY, he was the son of the late Bradley and Betty Angel Hellard.  He was a retired maintenance worker for International Tool Company in Dayton, OH.  He served in the CCC during WWII and was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Burnis; three children, Linda Marie Salyer (Billy) of Miamisburg, OH, Phillip Wayne Hellard (Linda) of Gallatin, TN, and Brenda Louise Helton (Joseph) of Hillsboro, OH; 8 grandchildren, Russell Hisle, Randall Salyer, Ronald Salyer, Kelly Jackson, Rebecca Russell, Wendy Pedigo, Bobbie Jo Murrell and Charles Helton; one sister, Myrtle Bond of Miamisburg; very special friend, caretaker and former daughter-in-law, Karen Hellard of Glasgow; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Hellard.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
