Cornelius Richard “Dick” Wheeler, 73, of Willie Groce Road Glasgow, died Saturday, March 05, 2005 at his residence.  He was the son of the late C.R. Wheeler and Pernie Smith Wheeler, he was retired from the Glasgow Street Department after 27 1\2 years of service, and a member of the Brotherhood Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Eva Jackson Wheeler; four sons: Charles Wheeler and his wife Judy of Burkesville, Richard Wheeler, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Glasgow, Clifton Wheeler of Glasgow and James “Jimmy” Wheeler and his wife Kathy of Glasgow; two daughters: Sandra Hammer of Glasgow and Tammy Pulley and her husband William of Glasgow; one brother: Rex Wheeler and his wife Linda of Edmonton; two sisters: Mary Campbell and her husband Frank of Glasgow and Rebecca Taylor of Glasgow; his mother-in-law: Lena Ferguson of Glasgow;  twelve grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Tony Wheeler.

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home after 12 noon on Sunday.
