          William Bryant “Buck” Atnip, 83, Glasgow , died Saturday, August 14, 2004 , at the Medical Center at Bowling Green .  A native of Barren County , he was a son of the late Spencer and Lula Mitchell Atnip.  He was a farmer; a retired bus driver for Barren County Schools with 37 years of service; a member, deacon and former song leader of South Fork Baptist Church ; a member of Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV; and a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II.  

          Survivors include his wife, Christine Lohden Atnip; two daughters, Patricia Ann Just and her husband, Paul, of Bowling Green, and Charlotte Steenbergen and her husband, Mike, of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Todd Steenbergen and his wife, Ann, and Julie Smith and her husband, Brent, all of Glasgow; Sara Just and Trey Just both of Bowling Green; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Steenbergen and Spencer Steenbergen; one niece, Sharon Lohden of Leitchfield; several cousins.  

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Leonard Atnip, and one sister, Manova Lohden.  

          Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2004 , at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.  Burial, with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV, will be in the South Fork Baptist Church Cemetery .  Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
