Ruby Poynter, 87, Davis Street, Glasgow, died Friday at the Medical Center at Bowling Green after a lengthy illness. A daughter of the late Worthie and Myrtie Dossey Wheeler, she was a retired operator for 33 years with General Telephone and a member of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Laymon; two daughters, Joyce Poynter at home and Linda Pedigo of Columbus, Indiana; six grandchildren, Lisa Beltz, Gene Pedigo, Jeff Pedigo, Trina Rose, Kevin Pedigo and Julia Pedigo; one sister, Opal Carey of Nashville; one brother, Joe Wheeler of Phoenix; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Mike Pedigo.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
