Donald Richard Hurt
October 25, 1950 ~ December 17, 2010
Donald Richard “Pork Chop” Hurt, 60, of Glasgow, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. He is the son of Mildred Lourene Martin Hurt and the late Donald Lindle Hurt. He was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene, retired from R. R. Donnelley and Sons, an avid hunter, fisherman and cook.
Besides his mother he is survived by his wife Cindy Hurt; two sons: Anthony Lee Hurt and his wife Diana of Mt. Juliet, TN and Jason Alan Hurt and his wife Miranda of Glasgow; four grandchildren: Cameron Hurt, Dylan Hurt, Bailey E. Hurt and Christian Hurt; one brother: Alan Martin Hurt of Bowling Green; one sister: Karen A. Matney of Glasgow; one nephew: Kelly Ray Matney; two nieces: Amanda Hurt and Courtlyn Hurt.
Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

What a wonderful husband, and father, you were blessed with. We are so sorry for you loss and are keeping you in our prayers and hearts. Just for the time that we knew “Pork Chop”, he became a great friend and we loved him. Cindy…I am at a loss for words. I have known you for so long and I can’t express how badly I feel for you at this time. I enjoyed my time working with you at the Y and eventhough I only met Donald a few times at Y functions, he was such a sweet person. Bobby remembers working with him at Donnelley’s too. So sorry for your loss. We work so hard to make everyone better but God has his own plans . I pray that God will heal your hearts especially at this time of year. Remember the good times. Im sure you have so many stories to tell ..so glad Tony showed me the pictures of the hunt . He talked alot about it with me and that it was the trip of a lifetime. Im so glad he got to have such a good year and so many great memories. Your whole family touched my heart. I will be thinking and praying for all of you.

It was with great sadness that I read about Donald’s passing. I work as needed at Hardin Memorial and only wish I could have been there to provide assistance and comfort. I have and forever will remember Donald and Cindy as true friends in high school. May God bless and keep you.

Cindy, it has been several years since we’ve seen you, but we still talk about all the wonderful friends we had at First Church of the Nazarene, Glasgow. We remember you and Donald as being faithful to church and, most importantly, faithful to God. God, through Jesus and the Holy Spirit will be your comfort and guide through these difficult days. Trust Him; as He promises, He will give you comfort.

I am so sorry. I did not know until just now. I have been off all last week and do not have a computer at home. Donald Richard was a wonderful friend. I can’t imagine what you are going through, but just know I love you and am praying for you and your family. I know God will keep his arms around you in the days and weeks ahead.
