Denton C. Turner, 85, Cave City, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the Barren County Health Care Center.  A native of Monroe County, he was a son of the late Bertie and Settie B. Burks Turner.  He was a retired farmer, a veteran of WWII and a member of the Basil Chapel United Baptist Church, where he had also served as trustee for more than 40 years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Parker Turner; two sons, Phillip (Carolyn) Turner of Glasgow and Jeff (Kim) Turner of Cave City; two daughters, Wanda (Phillip) Doyle and Bonnie (Mark) Edwards all of Cave City; 7 grandchildren, Whitney and Weston Turner of Cave City, Joey (Gina) Turner of Cave City, Jay (Cortney)Turner of Alabama, Kym (Mike) Fogle of Glasgow, Brad (Ashley) Edwards of Glasgow, Jamie Edwards of Cave City; 7 great-grandchildren, Kaylee Turner, Kalen Fogle, Mikiya Fogle, Yasmean Fogle, Bella Grace, Lilly and Jack Turner; one brother-in-law, Roger Wood (Barbara) Parker of Glasgow; one sister-in-law, Ada Branstetter of Glasgow; one niece, Donna Parker Jeffries of Cave City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Eugene Turner and one brother-in-law, Johnny Branstetter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery.  Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
