Roger Evans Huffman, 87, Glasgow , died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 , at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital .

The lifelong Barren County resident was born November 10, 1916 , near Temple Hill, and was a son of the late John Hershell Huffman and Dee Branstetter Huffman.  He was an employee of Bernard’s Department Store in Glasgow for over 60 years until the store closed. He was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and was a graduate of the Cave City High School in 1934. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served overseas in the campaign for the Philippines .

Survivors include two granddaughters, Kelly Jo Anderson and her husband, Sean, of Edmonton, and Andrea Hardin and husband, Joe, of Glasgow; one grandson, RexAllan Harrison and wife, Cristal, of Glasgow; one sister, Ada Frances Huffman of Louisville; two great-grandchildren, Konnor and Kelsea Anderson; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Imogene Wooten Huffman; his son, Joe E. Huffman; two sisters, Lucille Conway of Cannelton, In; and Janie Lou Wittoesch of Dayton , Ohio ; and one brother, James Huffman of Louisville .

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 after 6:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
