Mildred Lucille Riley, 80, formerly of Barren County, died Thursday in Murphysboro, Illinois. A native of Parma, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Hettie Mae Reames and George Washington Adams. She was the widow of the late William Franklin Riley, a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include six children, Bill (Cheri) Riley of Campbell Hill, IL, Ruth (Wayne) Nemitz of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Nellie (Jim) Engelhardt of Pinckneyville, IL, Ellen Riley and Dallas Patterson of Anacortes, WA, Frank (Di) Riley of Murphysboro, Sam (Jan) Riley of Anna, IL; 21 grandchildren, Pam Maloof, Melanie Denny, Cheryl Vessels, Debbie Wray, Michael Riley, Bonnie MacPherson, Frankie Hamlin, Milton Hamlin, Pat Collins, Cassy Lee, Jesse Riley, Abe Nemitz, Heather Nemitz, Zach Nemitz, Cathy Troue, Patrick Riley, Heath Riley, Nick Riley, Christine Miller, Alan Engelhardt and Talitha Engelhardt; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Cletis (Norma) Adams of Makanda, IL; one sister, Juanita Stephens of Cambria, IL; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Adams of Cobden, IL and Barbara Heern of Makanda, IL.

Local survivors include four nieces, Charlotte Rigdon, Ivone Broady, Ruth Edmunds and Roberta Botts; several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three step-daughters, Pearl Riley, Bessie Riley and Maggie Hamlin; one stepson, Jim Riley; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Ava, IL and after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Alzheimer’s Research.
