Joseph C. Whitlow, 84, Glasgow, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born June 22, 1918, in Barren County, he was a son of the late Ulysses and Lue Emma Wilmanning Whitlow. He was a farmer, a retired employee of the Western Kentucky Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 17 years and a long time employee of Joe Leech of Glasgow.

He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church for many years, where he served as deacon, a member of the senior and brotherhood choir and was a past president of the brotherhood board.

Survivors include longtime friends, Lucille Staten and Tommy Burris of Glasgow; two sons, Jerry R. Whitlow and Donald Lee Whitlow; three daughters, Diane Lewis, DeLois Henderson (son-in-law Al Henderson) and Alma Dickerson all of Bowling Green; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Whitlow of Smiths Grove; one sister, Margaret Greer of Bowling Green; four sisters-in-law, Irene Kinslow of Louisville, Annie Mae Glover, Catherine Clayton and Corine Grooms all of Glasgow; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Ferguson of Indiana; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Laura Ferguson Whitlow; one daughter, Joann Whitlow Huffman; three brothers and four sisters, James, Paul, Spicey, Annie Mae, Elizabeth and Lucille.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at the Hopewell Baptist Church with burial in the Barlow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
