James Edward Driver, 66, Joe Traylor Avenue, Glasgow, died Friday, December 27, 2002, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born March 20, 1936 in Louisville, he was a son of the late Clem “Bereck” Driver and Frances “Icy” Bush Driver. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Pleasant Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Norma Jean Young Driver; one son, Robert Leon Driver and his wife, Joyce, of Glasgow; eight daughters, Brenda Wood and husband, Ricky, of Glasgow, Marie Paul and husband, Mickey, of Hart County, Judy Woods and husband, William, of Glasgow, Rocky Rice and husband, Howard, of Hart County, Doris Martin and husband, Charles, of Glasgow, Deloris Short of Glasgow, Beverly Sue Nuckols of Glasgow, Ann Doakes and husband, Kenneth, of Glasgow; four brothers, Otis Driver of Cave City, Junior Driver of Hiseville, Johnny Driver of Louisville and Eddie Driver of Hart County; three sisters, Louise Franklin of Hodgenville, Edna Curry of Horse Cave and Mattie Austin of Smiths Grove; five sisters-in-law, Christine Young, Christine Driver, Georgia Mae Driver, Pattie Driver and Essey Driver; three brothers-in-law, Paul Young, Ollie Franklin and Leo Austin; 29 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Haskins; two sons, James Driver, Jr. and R.J. Driver; three brothers, Rosco Wilson, William Driver and Morgan Driver.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Pleasant Union Baptist Church with burial in the Pleasant Union Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
