Verlon Odell Kidd, 98, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday May 3, 2023 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. A native of Metcalfe County, he was the son of the late Eural R. Kidd and Clara Edwards Kidd.
Verlon was a farmer and a retired maintenance worker at Sorensen’s in Glasgow. He was a member of the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Allen Lodge #24 F & AM, and Kosair Shrine.
Verlon is survived by one son Steve Kidd and his wife Lois; one grandson, Nathan Kidd; two great-grandchildren: Courtney Simmons and husband Tyler, and Casey Kidd and fiancé Jessie Billings; two great-great grandchildren: Lena Kate Strode and Sean Billings (scheduled to arrive in July); one sister, Ruth Jean Sharp; his caregivers, Stacy and Chris Emberton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Louise Ball Kidd; and three sisters: Maxine Kidd, Lavinia Everett, and Virginia Dickson.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7:00 p.m.
