Veachel Hunter, 88, Cave City, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Caverna Memorial Hospital. A son of the late Manie Doyel and Roy T. Hunter, he was a retired farmer. He was an army veteran of WWII and a recipient of the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of the Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Garry Hunter of Cave City; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Parsley Hunter, and two sisters, Lucille Coats and Luzena Skaggs Taylor.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
