Tressie Ree Britt Hatcher, 94, Glasgow, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at NHC in Glasgow. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Rebecca Carver Britt. She was the widow of the late J C Hatcher and co-owner of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Mrs. Hatcher was a retired teacher with both the Barren County and Glasgow City School Systems; she began her career at Forest Seminary, a one-room school in Barren County. She was also a long-time member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Carroll Hatcher and his wife, Rosemary of Louisville; three grandsons, James C. Hatcher of Louisville, Robert L. Hatcher of Westfield, IN and Christopher L. Hatcher of Louisville; six great-grandchildren, Craig, Rachel, Hannah, Ryan, Haylee and Mark Hatcher.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilson Britt and Edwin Britt, and her step-mother, Effie Johnson Britt.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to The Gideons International .
