Thomas Christian Douthat

Thomas Christian Douthat, age 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on August 17th, 2026, surrounded by his two daughters.

Born on November 22nd, 1955, to Harry and Louise Douthat, Tommy lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and heart. He spent more than 30 years working as a welder, earning the respect of everyone who knew him for his unwavering commitment and steady spirit. Outside of work, he found joy in hunting and cherished every moment spent with family and friends.

Tommy’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched — through kindness offered freely, wisdom shared generously, and memories that will be held close forever.

He is survived by his siblings: Roger Douthat, Mike Douthat, Rosie Vittitow, Esther Dawson, Helen Cagle, and Linda Lehmkuhle; his daughters: Heather Douthat and Brandy Culbertson; and his grandchildren: Haylee Richard, Justin Culbertson, and Dalan Stockton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Douthat and Louise Prechtel; his siblings, Tina Douthat, Vernon Douthat, Donald Douthat, Suzann Duvall and Agnes Manion; and his son, Thomas Christan Harry Douthat.

A celebration of life will take place in the spring of 2027 in Munfordville, Kentucky. Details will be shared at a later date.
