Steve S. Alston, 55, Cave City, died Thursday, June 23, 2005, at his residence. He retired as Sergeant First Class after having served 21 ½ years in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and Desert Storm as well as 2 tours of duty in Germany. He was general manager of the Cave City Quality Inn at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Saundra; two sons, Rocky Alston and his wife, Lesa, of Sellersburg, IN, and Scott Alston of Louisville; one daughter, Rebecca Emerson and her husband, Joe, of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Kristyn and Kaetlyn Alston and Cheyenne Emerson; one brother, Cecil Alston and his wife, Marion, of Ahoskie, North Carolina; two nephews, Gordon and Alan Alston.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial service will also be held in Elizabethtown at a later date. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the DAV or the VFW.
