Shannon Faye Matthews

Shannon Faye Matthews, 53, Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. She was a native of Barren County; a homemaker; and one who loved going to church, reading her Bible, doing volunteer work, and spending time with her son.

Survivors include her son Samuel Lee Matthews; her mother, Schenella Ward of Glasgow; two uncles: Larry Ward (Carla) and Steve Ward (Kellie); two aunts: Anna Logsdon (Andy) and Kelly Zunnurain (Mo); along with several cousins and other family members.

Shannon was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Dewayne “Kenny” Matthews 18 days earlier, along with her maternal grandparents, Herman and Mattie Lee Ballard Ward.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made toward funeral expenses.
