Sarah Frances Strange Boston, 87, of Glasgow, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at NHC Healthcare. The family would like to thank the outstanding nurses and staff at NHC and T.J. Samson Hospice. She was the daughter of the late Holland Strange, Sr. and Aline Martin Strange. She was a member of Grider Memorial Baptist Church.
Sarah was a proud 1956 graduate of Glasgow High School. She dedicated 34 years of her life to Houchens Industries, where she worked until her retirement.
Sarah was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 69 years, Herbert Boston; two daughters: Lou Ann Boston and Christy Wheeler; and son-in-law, Bruce Wheeler.
She is survived by her daughter: Sue Furlong (Mike); six grandchildren: Andy Furlong (Tabitha), Alison Fisher (John), John Furlong (Leah), Cory Wheeler (Shelby), Cate Wheeler (Joseph Ayers), and Cole Wheeler; and seven great-grandchildren: Lily Furlong; Saber, Mallie, and Jonas Fisher; Hailey and Boston Furlong; and Marshall Wheeler.
Sarah loved her family dearly and was an avid game player, especially enjoying Rook, Spades, and Dominoes. Some of her family's most treasured memories were made around her table on Sundays, gathered together for meals and enjoying her exceptional cooking. Her home, her table, and the food she lovingly prepared were a source of comfort, laughter, and togetherness for generations of her family. She will be remembered for the many traditions and memories she created along the way.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, at 9:00 a.m. at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made in the form of donations to a favorite charity.
Sarah's life was one of love, devotion, hard work, and family. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories.
