Samuel C. “Bill” Birge
January 28, 1928 ~ June 21, 2004
Samuel C. “Bill” Birge, 76, Glasgow , died Monday, June 21, 2004 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Monroe County , he was a son of Chloe Bray Birge and the late Clyde Birge. He was a retired employee of Sorensen’s and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Kim Stites and her husband, Brandon, of Savannah, GA, and Kristal Barnes and her husband, Michael, of Hendersonville, TN; one granddaughter, Morgan Elmore; three brothers, Rondal Birge, Delbert Birge and Glen Birge all of Glasgow; one sister, Ruth Ann Woodcock of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Birge, Reggie Birge and Quentin Birge.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
